Introduction Applets (or plugins) are a subset of Cairo-Dock. They offer the possibility to add potentially an infinite number of fonctionalities. With the applets it is possible to highly customise the dock.

List of available plug-in Rendering (fabounet) : "Rendering" is the applet that controls 3D. If it is deactivated during an update... don't panic go to the config panel for the applet and tick it back!
Logout (fabounet) : Add a button to open the Session Control Panel so you can logout, restart or switch your computer.
Clock (fabounet) : Add a clock to the dock
The clock can be either Digital or Analog. In the last case it is acutally a direct integration of the famous Cairo-Clock in the dock (all its themes are there as well). Alarms are available with a notification of them in the dock when they occur).
Dustbin (fabounet) : It's the Trash! Provide a fast and easy access! You have to specify the directories of the Trash you want to control. This gives the advantage that you can manage several Trash in one place. Here as well several themes are proposed.
Shortcut (Fabounet) : This applet gives you a way to manage your files/directories/Mount points directly from the dock. You can choose to display your physical disk or network drives. YOu can also drag-and-Drop a file or a directory in the dock and you mount point as well (MP3 Player, USB key...). You could this way dedicate a sub dock where your favorite files would be located.
Rhythmbox (necropotame) : This Applet is a remote control of Rhythmbox directly integrated in the dock. It will notify you when a new song starts and you can access main commands like Play/Pause, Stop, Next, Previous.
Systray (Ctaf): This Applet has the aim to replace the systray from Gnome so that all your applications (IM, Audio Player...). This is one more step towards getting rid of the Gnome toolbars 
Terminal (Ctaf): You always need a terminal handy....This one can be called directly from the dock and will hide or show itself when you need it to.
PowerManager (necropotame) : Laptop users will be most satisfied with this applet. It gives you a report on the state of your power (or lack of it!)
Xgamma (fabounet) :An applet for the configguration of your screen which can help saving power (laptop battery or UPS) and allow to change setting on your screen rapidly.
Weather (fabounet) :With this applet you can have the weather in your dock. Select a city code from Weather.com |
